I have always had a cough, a tickle in my throat. It got worse over the past few years, in frequency and intensity. I’m choking with it, being sick etc. have had appointments in a
respiratory clinic, diagnosed as maybe cough variant Asthma, 9% improvement in peak flow while using inhaler. Using the inhaler twice daily.
Saw allergy clinic, no allergies at all. Also given a nasal spray. Using it twice daily
Queried GERD, ruled out by gastro consultant, but given a stomach tablet as a precaution.
Last hope ENT consultant, query nasal drip, all clear, CT for sinus issue, all clear. Camera up nose into throat, all clear.

So hoarse 90% of the time, choking cough, absolutely unable to talk for 10 - 15 mins after coughing fit. Started snoring in the last year also. Anyone any ideas, I’m desperate at this stage. TIA

We have a bit of a family history of this sort of thing! Contact RADA (the acting people) and ask for a referral to a speech and language person. It may be that you have a degree of paralysis going on in your vocal cords/folds.

Oh thanks for that. In Ireland but know someone who went to a voice physio, for recovery from vocal cord surgery.
