Suncream on toddlers scalp if they won't wear a hat?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, sort of health-y issue: DS this year keeps pulling his hat off (even with the strap on) but he has baby hair with a very exposed scalp even though he is two, so today I just caked his hair and scalp in suncream, will it work? TIA

Bandana + factor 50 and zinc creme on the face

And I put suncream on his head if we're only going out for abit and I can't be fussed with the bandana

Hats are the work of the devil

yes. see profile for pic of dd3 about 18months old with hair and scalp caked in suncream (ignore the haribo, i ate them lol)

I don't think he would wear a bandana either, i'll definatly try it though. The baby suncreame I use I found out today is only SPF 40, is that too low? I presumed all this time it was a 50. Zinc cream? Is that aswell as a suncream? I've never really heard of it.

Zinc cream, like the cricket players wear in a strip across the cheeks and nose

Comes in bright colours so they like having it on and then you don't have to rub it in

They honestly forget they have a bandana on, distract when your tying it and they don't even realise. DS had his on for hours yesterday

like this

oh righty, great idea, DS should like that. He is quite pale and fair and already has a massive freckle on his head from obviously a spot I missed last year. He shouldn't notice the bandana I guess once it's on, not like that big rims of his sunhats... thanks
