What wrong with my nan?

A week ago my nan looked a bit different facially. Friday night she got admitted to hospital and has since developed loss of swallow, pain in throat, sore eyes and poor speech. She is able to walk and the rest of her seems as normal. She has a tube in now (down her nose) to feed her

First of all she was ? Stroke but now they are not sure.

Anyone else experienced this or got an idea what I could be.

The differential diagnosis is quite wide but top 3 would be stroke/tumour/infection...
Has she had an MRI scan?

She’s had a ct scan. Which didn’t show anything. They can’t do an mri unfortunately as she’s got a pacemake. Thanks for your reply

Have they considered Bell's Palsy at all? I'm not a doctor but that possibility occurs to me based on the experience of a friend.

It could be a vast array of things but sounds possibly infection related if she's had ct scans and nothing is visible on there, especially with the throat pain and sore eyes.

Have they said what her bloods are like, whether she has raised inflammatory/infection markers? Do you know what the plan is from the Dr's in terms of investigations?

I hope she improves soon and isn't too uncomfortable.
