DF is nearly 80 and about to have this done.
What was recovery like? And how long was hospital stay? Any complications?

Thank you.

Watching with interest, op my mum who is 79 has just opted to have surgery for this after suffering with crippling back pain for a good while now and being misdiagnosed as having tendinitis.

I've read the outcome can be very good.

My dad had it at about 70 ish. Honestly I can't remember much about his recovery time but we had to bring a bed down stairs for him for a few months as he had to avoid stairs as much as he could. He was in hospital for a few days maybe week at most. Then discharged with physio sessions and follow up appointments to check. Had to be careful not to get stitches wet of course.

He didn't say much about any pain he felt post recovery but except he did, its surgery after all. But he didn't have any complications. Went as well as it could have.
