TMI- Mucus when pooping and diarrhea

Hi lovelies,

Im sorry this is so disgusting but I’ve been pooping mucus since yesterday and also had diarrhoea today, only three episodes so far. I have been eating a lot of dairy recently which I’ve heard can be a trigger and I’m fairly sure I have IBS too. Has anyone else had a similar experience? What was it? I am also emetophobic so praying I don’t have a stomach bug, please convince me I don’t! I do not have a fever and have had stomach pain and nausea but no vomiting (hopefully it stays that way). I do core train a lot so wonder if something I did at the gym has triggered the stomach pain too and I am also due on in a few days so it’s normal for me to have stomach pain this point in my cycle.

If it’s just started and hasn’t gotten any worse, I would say it sounds like you’ve picked up a stomach bug. Pain, constant mucus and diarrhoea/constipation and even blood in stools, for prolonged periods may suggest IBD, either chrons, colitis so if your symptoms aren’t better within a few days, might be worth seeing your GP, as diagnosis can take a long time to get referred.
