Cold from hell

Hi all, my family and I have had a beast of a cold (no covid test), all week. We've all been off work/school. We've all had different symptoms that include: fevers, chills, congestion, muscle aches, headaches, sweating, fatigue, sinus pressure, full feeling ears, and stomach cramps/tummy aches.

My question is, are the stomach pains normal with a cold? There has been no D&V (apologies for tmi).

It's been awful, and as I have hearing loss in one ear from a similar virus 2 years ago, I am feeling anxious about long term effects from all these awful bugs We've had this winter.

Thanks in advance!

Why no Covid test ?

I remember taking my kids to the doctor with a fever and tummy pain as was concerned about appendicitis but the doctor said some colds/sore throats could also cause tummy pain as lymph nodes next to stomach get enlarged as an immune reaction. Or adenovirus can also cause all sorts of reactions, I think we had it last week, one child got an ear infection and another red eye and tummy pain. Hope it will pass soon with no complications!

@Decembersunset that sounds horrid, I hope you are all recovered now. We are ok, I think we're past the peak and are now onto the snotty/congested/coughing part. In all honesty, I do think its just a particularly mean cold, but when they are back to back, you can end up feeling pretty rotten! Thanks for the information on the stomach cramps, it does set my mind at rest on that one 😊
