Hi guys so I for a long time have been getting my awful pain in behind my eyes. It's an awful pain, nearly makes me throw up. It's right behind my eyes always seems to be the right one. So I ended up goin to specsavers and got an eye exam and they ended up telling me I have a thing bilateral eye narrowing, it's where fluid doesn't drain properly and gives you that awful pain.
So I am going for laser eye surgery on Tuesda, can anyone tell me is it sore? I'm really nervous. And what can I expect after do you have to wait a week before wearing eye makeup etc? And will the procedure itself not last long? Thanks

It didn't hurt, no. I could smell burning and it felt and looked strange, but that's about it.

Yes no make up for a week. Had mine in the summer so wore sunglasses most of the time.

5 years later, I am back in glasses for driving. I did only originally have a moderate prescription but need a weak lens currently. Also after laser my eyes got more sensitive and dry. I still use drops, Night driving isn't that great as the lights give a bit more of a 'haze' and I have to wear sunglasses more outside as more sensitive to strong daylight.

I'm glad I did it. If my prescription gets worse, I wouldn't do laser a second time but would consider lens replacement.

@3678194b that’s a different surgery.
the OP has narrow drainage angles in her anterior eyes and needs a peripheral iridectomy.

there is a very good leaflet here

most people don’t find it sore at all. It’s fairly short, but you need to wait a bit afterwards as the measure your eye pressure.

It’s usually 2 weeks after any eye surgery before you can wear eye make up.
