What could this be? - anxious

I've recently (over the last few months) had this soreness/irritation around my bum hole (sorry for the description!). Anyway, been treating it with all sorts of things to try and get it to go - I know I have some hemorrhoids so have tried all the normal stuff including Anusol suppositories, hemorrhoid cream, witch hazel wipes, Sudocreme, even took anti-worm tablets just in case etc but nothing has really helped and it seems chronic now. It is sore of a soreness as though the skin is raw but also a heavy feeling just inside my bottom passage. Some days it feels better than others but it never goes. I have had no bleeding, poos look a normal colour and I go regularly once a day and they are the normal consistency, no diarrhea or constipation, no abdominal pain, not lost any weight, good appetite, normal energy (I am 45). I had a CRP result in June of last year which was normal (for unrelated cholesterol issues).

I went to the GP who had a look and said it looked like a bit of redness/raw skin next to an external hemorrhoid and she said she couldn't feel any lumps inside my anus and she checked my stomach and couldn't feel any lumps there either. However, I asked her to do a calprotectin test just for reassurance but it has come back really high (over 400) so I have to have a colonoscopy. I have not been offered any blood tests or infection tests, just straight on the two-week wait for a colonscopy which I am nervous about.

I am just wondering if the two are related - high calpro and this sore bottom.

My young child has Crohn's disease and my father had colon cancer (in his 70s - he died of something unrelated).

Any advice would be appreciated. Please reassure me as I am very anxious.
