This is mortifying but, I had a baby in October 2023 and in December 2024 I got a the viral thing everyone seemed to have - which has left a lingering cough, I'd say the past 7/8 weeks or so. I now can't cough, even slightly, without emptying my bladder - so I've been using incontinence pads and later full on Tena lady pants for 7/8 weeks. I called up and have an appointment to see a GP in late February.

It got me today driving to my son's swimming lessons where I coughed and wet through so I had a massive wet patch. I went anyway but I'm now a bit shaken. I feel like I can't go to anyone else's house, as I've peed on my own couch multiple times and I'm feeling really anxious about work.

Has anyone else had this? I've been fobbed off with 'just do pelvic floor exercises', but I think it's beyond that now! If I call the drs and ask if I can be seen sooner, is there anything they'll actually do about this or do I need to accept that I'll be like this forever (I'm only 28!)

See the gp but research pelvic physiotherapists. I found mine so helpful and worth every penny.
