Yoga class is making me ill 🤧

I've been going to a yoga class since last September, unfortunately with an unavoidable break in November and December. The issue is that the class has a lot of young people/students and I'm finding I'm constantly wavering on the edge of a cold or bug and it's affecting my other exercise (running and swimming) through having to take days off to recover and stop a cold developing (i.e. when you feel it beginning but rest and you fight it off).

There's no ventilation in the room and it's very stuffy which I don't think helps (it can't relate ventilated as it's heated up warm).

I don't know if it's worse to constantly feel I'm slightly run down from a cold coming on but still have some yoga training or to just ditch the class and go back to not having bugs/colds etc.

Will I start getting them less as time goes on? I WFH and don't have little ones so I think I've been isolated from this kind of cold and bug over the past few years.

How do you know the viruses are to do with the yoga class? You're much more likely to get it from shops etc

yes I do think poor ventilation in your class could increase your exposure to viruses.

venue of class is very important especially for something like yoga. I went to a brilliant Pilates teacher but had to change class and venue to fit in with work; it just wasn’t the same but I knew enough and was confident to workout at home.
I picked up more colds when I went to a gym who were always tinkering with their air conditioning. I stopped going to the gym and workout at home now.

I'd go for an online yoga class. I've a friend who moved to this for the same reason, always getting ill from yoga class. I think it's because they deliberately make it warm to make your muscles more flexible, but this means viruses spread more easily.

Sack it off for the winter until the weather is good enough to open windows again. Take vitamin C, vitamin D and echinacea tablets to help ward off the colds.

If you've only been going since September, you've only been going in flu/cold season Do you genuinely only ever see other people in this class? You could be picking up viruses from shops, buses etc. Your immune system needs to be challenged a bit!!
