High pulse/palpitations

I have previously had periods where I would feel heart palpitations for sometimes minutes, sometimes longer. I had a period of a month having them and then they stopped. I had an ecg done on my health check and it was all fine. Doctor said its probably stress and I need to move more. So I became more active and they went away for more than 6 months.

Last night my daughter was whining and woke me up and my heart was quite fast and I had palpitations. I got quite a scare as they were pretty aggressive. They went away within 10 minutes.

Has anyone had similar? I am tempted to go to a cardiologist but I don't know if I'm over panicking.

Being woken up suddenly can really make your heart pound. As a one off, with your history (aka it's been checked and they found nothing serious) then I wouldn't worry. If it keeps happening go back and ask to be checked again.

Ya, I was in that state where I was in a very deep sleep and she both startled me and annoyed me as the whining is just her seeking attention, but my reaction was definitely ott. :) Thanks!

This happens to me if woken suddenly . Your heart rate drops to its lowest when you are sleeping so suddenly waking will cause it to raise.
