Boil/cyst on bum

I have a boil on my bum cheek, I’ve had it for 4 months, I’ve had 2 courses of antibiotics, currently on my 3rd. The pain and swelling goes away during treatment but comes back when finished. The boil itself hasn’t gone at any point. Too deep to pop. Too deep to have popped by GP. They’ve referred for surgery to remove it but don’t really want a big scar on my bum cheek. I’m 28 and have never had a boil before, don’t know what’s caused it. I really want to get rid of it without needing the surgery… has anyone had this?!

I have! The Dr told me to put one capful of Dettol into a full bath of water and sit in it.
It got rid of mine and I had numerous reoccurring ones which were extremely painful, ( not to mebtion embarrassing).
I've had no problems since.

Dettol is a good shout but don't worry about a scar, it'll be very small.

Have you tried a really hot flannel pressed against it- that can sometimes help the puss come out but if it’s that bad the dr has referred to surgery it may not work at all.
