Fibromyalgia - what are your symptoms?

If you have fibromyalgia, what are your symptoms? Do you have flare ups or is it constant?

GP thinks I may have it but I don't think my symptoms match up. She said it differs from person to person.

Cannot find it now but I read some research about fibro sufferers having some abnormal kind of protein in their spinal fluid

Hate it when people say it is made up, who the fuck wants to live like this😬

wish someone could live in my body for a month

Menopause and peri have been ruled out. B12 is normal. After 2 years I just want a diagnosis now so I know I'm not just losing my marbles!

Sometimes I think people have a weird jealousy towards people who have medical conditions. I've experienced this a lot over the years being type 1 diabetic. Some people just crave attention!

Fibromyalgia has over 200 symptoms.. some of us have a few.. some of us have many.
Fibromyalgia is usually causes by some kind of trauma.. either physically or mentally ( mine was both). Drugged gang raped).
I run a Fibromyalgia support group.
I was diagnosed by a Rheumatologist and psychiatrist many many years ago...
Honestly Google is your friend for looking up the symptoms.
I am now 66 and have at least 5 of the symptoms every single day.. not always the same symptoms...during bad flare up days/ weeks.. l can have on average 50 of the symptoms in any give hour.
I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get the help you need and deserve.. don't give up... much love.💐

Lots of love to you xx

Fibromyalgia is the diagnosis they make when they have ruled out everything else, and your symptoms fit but my doctor said to me it’s probably a collection of different illnesses that don’t have a unique marker they can pinpoint in tests.

For me, I finally got to the bottom of the cause - gut health. Had some private tests done which proved bad gut bacteria, got antibiotics prescribed from nhs gastroenterology after sharing my results. I take probiotics daily (otherwise it’s not long before the symptoms creep back). I also have gluten sensitivity because of the state of my gut.

after treatment, cutting out gluten I felt like I had a new body with 10/14 days, it was life changing. I had years of extreme fatigue, joint pain, skin pain, hair follicle pain, burning feet, brain fog, crap sleep, generally just feeling like I needed carted off in an ambulance. I’m now working full time again and feel great as long as I keep taking the probiotics and don’t eat gluten. Won’t be the solution for everyone, but worthwhile looking into - nhs is very limited in what they check in terms of gut health, but symptoms can be whole body and very debilitating .

Has anyone with fibromyalgia suffered with sharp stabbing pains in the sides of their upper abdomen?
