Have tried hot water bottle, cool pack, calpol (she slept for 2 hours is now awake again crying), have just given her some Andrews. She keeps farting a bit but it doesn't seem to help

Any tips gratefully received

any fennel tea?

Have you tried rubbing her tummy in a clockwise direction?

cornsilk · 06/05/2008 00:01

Poor thing. Sorry don't know. What do you think has caused it?

Yes I do a few sit ups when I feel like that and it really helps.

CountessDracula · 06/05/2008 00:03

Have done floor tummy thing and has produced a few little farts but she seems to find it too painful

I said a couple of mins ago "shall I go and ask on mumsnet" and she said yes

How old is she? if she is small enough...
I always put Dd over my shoulder or across my knee and gently but firmly press her back just at her pelvis, this always makes her fart! my brother gave me that tip with my Ds and it has never failed me!

WendyWeber · 06/05/2008 00:04

Would it help if she lay with her tummy across a pillow, head down a bit and bottom up? Or across your lap at a similar angle as you sit on the sofa, while you rub her back?

soapbox · 06/05/2008 00:04

Can you do a tummy massage for her?

CountessDracula · 06/05/2008 00:05

Re tummy massage - did you do with heel of palm almost digging in, in a clockwise movement?

soapbox · 06/05/2008 00:08

Ah - bless - panick over

poor little thing - I hate trapped wind but cabbage is often the cause for me!

CountessDracula · 06/05/2008 09:38
