eye operation - 5 days on - should eye be smaller??

DS2 had op to correct a squint on Weds, and the eye has been v bloodshot (like something out of a horror movie!) which was to be expected. Now this is calming down a bit, but I've noticed the whole eye seems considerably (and rather disconcertingly) smaller than the other one. What's going on here, and is it normal???

Follow up appointment at hospital not for another 10 days, should I be worried about this?

Thanks for any advice

Is it the pupil or the eye socket? It could be swollen, they have to mess around quite a bit to do the correction so it could just be swelling.

Its not the pupil I don't think, so it must just be general swelling of the area - it just looks a bit strange, especially as the bloodshot-ness is now calming down.

Yes, its apretty grusesome procedure - my lovely dh saw it on youtube and tried to show me it - yuk!

Take him to the GP tomorrow just to check that there's no infection there causing the swelling. I hope he's feeling better soon . I am a bit on the squemish where eyes are concerned. I watched a few squint operations in theatre, I did feel a bit sick but managed to stick it out.
