I am constantly burping

I take heartburn stuff and it causes me to burp constantly and it is not small burps, it is big belches. My DH loves it and calls me his little burp machine but I am feeling awkward about it. What should I do?

I dont think theres anything you can do. I am pregnant so taking anti sickness pills which have a kind of anti heartburn effect. Im burping all the time. It is just what it is.

Have you had the heartburn investigated?

Yes ages ago but I was given omeprazole but that made me fart tons then I was given nothing after that

Try a different PPI? Omeprazole makes me feel terrible.

You can get esomeprazole over the counter if you want to try something in the meantime. I get on much better with this than omeprazole. Brand name is Nexium.

Hooray for Mumsnet - I've just read this thread and am sure this is the problem I have. Have had severe burping for more than a year. Maybe because I had left sided pain not right the Doc didn't mention gallbladder but lately I have had to stop eating chocolate and eg fried fish as they make me queasy.
