Chicken pox?

My 3 yo DS this morning came out in a few raised spots on his forehead, at first I thought it was irritation from his hair as it's very long and hanging over his face atm. I took him to nursery as normal as he wasn't unwell and I had no reason to think it could be contagious. When I picked him up they said he had more spots on his back and legs, the spots on his head are now really bad, but they aren't spreading they just look angry and almost hive like. They almost look like bites. I can't find anything similar to what they look like atm on Google. He's not unwell and he doesn't appear to be itching them. There's no more spots anywhere else. He's non verbal so can't tell me it's itchy or sore. Is this how chicken pox starts, I did give him a warm bath as I read this would bring them out and made no difference. First time mum and I have super bad anxiety so any advice appreciated. Thank you!

Yeah my ds chicken pox weren't itchy to him for like the first 24-36hrs, they were just popping up everywhere, it was sort of when the first full batch of pox had finished cropping up was when the itching started and fever didn't start until day 3.

Thanks. This morning there are no more spots and the spots have turned into a blotchy rash.
