Can anyone help me with these results? GP said not aneamic, however my ferritin was a lot higher in October after completing a course of iron tablets. It's since dropped again. I don't want to be an annoying patient and ask GP to double check if I'm wrong, any medical person know please? I'm feeling awful since a very heavy period bleed 😩

I’m taking Ferrous Fumerate tablets x2 last thing at night for similar iron levels. I was prescribed them but it’s half the price to buy them otc at the pharmacy, £4.44 for 85 at Tesco this week.

@TheSpottedZebra I could not tolerate ferrous sulphate at all. I found all the other options easier on my guts. I ended up with iron bisglycinate, which I bought myself and they didn't upset my innards and I also seemed to absorb the iron from them too and actually raise my iron levels.

If any of you are not vegetarian or vegan, pate is really iron rich and a good way of getting some through food. It is not often an option mentioned as I think lots of people don't like it, but I found it really helped.

@TheSpottedZebra try ferrous fumerate. It's supposed to be more gentle. I take it once a day (ferritin was 15 and I felt awful, but GP proclaimed it normal 🙄) and I've been grand on it.
