Super quick transit time

I’ve always had really quick digestive transit time, never had a study done but I am guessing it is a maximum of 6 hours and sometimes much shorter.

It’s pretty much always been my normal which makes me … less concerned.

Certain foods I can see in my poo within 4-6 hours of consumption, examples include sweetcorn and beetroot in any form. If I have a load of jalapeños, its the same story.

beetroot will turn the loo water pink (from poo, not wee) within a couple of hours and also gives me horrendous urgency so I’ve stopped eating it now despite loving it.

I do lowish FODMAP these days but I suppose I’m just wondering what the heck is supercharging my digestive tract and whether I should be.. well, doing anything else

answers on a postcard, please…

I've always been very much the same and the only thing which ever changes things is meditation. Which I can never stick with, but when I do it, things slow down a lot.

I’ve developed this over the past 10 years and it’s a nuisance. Have you tried taking digestive enzymes with each meal? I find it slows it down.

An ex who had this was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
