Any Gps - Night Sweats unknown?

So just a bit of context . Im under Neurology for Headache conditions and have been for some time so feeling unwell is normal for me sadly .
I have two kids though and for past few months wake feeling flu like achy just unwell but most worrying is ongoing swollen nodes under arms and night sweats .
Nodes have been scanned and declared normal reactive nodes and not big enough to warrant a biopsy .
All blood tests normal / Chest xray normal and even ct scan of Chest pelvis declared all normal .
My worry is im still getting thr night sweats - im not overweight / hormones ok ( mid 30s) Gp suggested fibro …. is there anything else im missing ?
What baffles me is i sleep naked , not a sweaty person in the day and no ongoing fevers so why is it happening at night ?
Any ideas would be great as i feel myself ( any my gp ) are slightly at a loss and i would hate to of missed something especially as i feel so unwell all time .

Only other thing is i was diagnosed undifferentiated tissue disease due to high positive ana but doc thinks thats unconnected .
Only blood test not normal was High Ferritin which ive had since birth of my little girl . Everything else within range and normal !

Could you try some HRT to see if it makes a difference?

I am on the highest amount of HRT oestrogen and still get night sweats a few times a week.

My gynae suggested trying venlafexine which is and anti-D but at a very low level stops sweats.

But if you aren't on HRT you could try a low dose. You can be going into peri meno at your age it isn't totally unheard of.

@Lobstercrisps Thanks for reply . Hormone levels all fine so doc doesnt think its that . So frustrating !

That's kind of irrelevant.

Hormone levels fluctuate from minute to minute and hour to hour and women are not tested for peri-meno, HRT is prescribed on the back of symptoms, not blood tests.

You can always ask to try it if you want to.

midgetastic · 11/01/2025 14:23

Mid 30s I'd like to look at everything else before assuming peri

Bubblebuttress · 11/01/2025 14:24

Undifferentiated connective tissue disease can cause sweats.

do you have hypermobility?

post covid histamineactivation can to cause sweats

don’t
forget to get a urine infection ruled out and a poo screen

ultimately- see a private rheumatologist rather than relying on a forum

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 14:24

@midgetastic ye thats kind of my view . Periods are regular and normal . Personally i dont think its Peri ive literally only just turned 35

@Bubblebuttress I am seeing a Rheum ( they ordered the ct scan ) which was clear . No hypermobility no . Urine and Stool tests all ok . I just cant help being concerned

How old is your youngest child? Have you recently stopped breastfeeding? I found I had terrible night sweats after doing this. Even though my baby was 13 months and I had been only feeding once or twice a day.

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 14:59

@Chef64 shes 2 and no i didnt breastfeed so cant be that . Its very weird

On any medication? Anti-depressants for example?

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 15:45

@Chef64 not a thing . I was on a CGRP drug for migraine but came off it back in May due to S/effects

Not to play down what you are experiencing because I know it's so uncomfortable but are you stressed/anxious over the other conditions you are dealing with? Anxiety can cause so many symptoms it can be really worrying! Try CBD oil ?

Also is your bedroom cool? Maybe try a lower tog duvet aswell. Just for comfort if nothing else !

Hope you get to the bottom of it x

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 19:33

@TTCNO2AT44 I am anxious about it yet and if im honest would LOVE that to be the answer ! My fear is its something worse and that may in turn be making things worse . I actually have cbd oil so its worth a try thankyou ! x

Have you had a Transferrin Saturation Test (TSAT) test. High ferritin could beHaemochromatosis which does cause night sweats.

Simple blood TSAT blood test would rule this out

bradypuss · 11/01/2025 19:36

Have you been checked for lupus

CityofRojas · 11/01/2025 19:37

Pretty sure night sweats are normal for some people. I get them. So do my kids fairly often. Other half does sometimes.

JiminaSlump · 11/01/2025 19:49

I had horrific night sweats. GP sent me for ever test under the sun, but told me that he thought it was anxiety. He thought I was incredibly anxious but squashing it down during the day, and night sweats were the only way it could make itself known. I started on sertraline and it changed my life, in all honesty. Plus, I was thrilled it was anxiety and not cancer!

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 20:21

@JiminaSlump how often were you getting them and what tests did you have ? I would be thrilled also ! How are you now ? Did you have other symptoms ? x

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 20:22

@CityofRojas i hope it is just normal but because they are regular it does concern me ! x

OP posts:
Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 20:31

@KeenOtter They dont think its that as ferritin is gradually decreasing and in pregnancy was actually low and i had iron transfusion

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 20:32

As far as I am aware Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition and shouldn't cause swollen nodes or night sweats
