Any Gps - Night Sweats unknown?

So just a bit of context . Im under Neurology for Headache conditions and have been for some time so feeling unwell is normal for me sadly .
I have two kids though and for past few months wake feeling flu like achy just unwell but most worrying is ongoing swollen nodes under arms and night sweats .
Nodes have been scanned and declared normal reactive nodes and not big enough to warrant a biopsy .
All blood tests normal / Chest xray normal and even ct scan of Chest pelvis declared all normal .
My worry is im still getting thr night sweats - im not overweight / hormones ok ( mid 30s) Gp suggested fibro …. is there anything else im missing ?
What baffles me is i sleep naked , not a sweaty person in the day and no ongoing fevers so why is it happening at night ?
Any ideas would be great as i feel myself ( any my gp ) are slightly at a loss and i would hate to of missed something especially as i feel so unwell all time .

Only other thing is i was diagnosed undifferentiated tissue disease due to high positive ana but doc thinks thats unconnected .
Only blood test not normal was High Ferritin which ive had since birth of my little girl . Everything else within range and normal !

@Marsh212 yes it is they believe the flu like symptoms are due to that but not the nodes

One other thing that crossed my mind is blood sugar. Try eating a light protein snack before you go to bed.

Some people get sweats in the night from a drop in blood sugar.

Also wondering if you are stressed or suffering with anxiety at the moment? I had horrendous night sweats when I was under a lot of stress. I'd wake up drenched and freezing as I was in no way hot.

Bountyboo · 13/01/2025 00:16

@KeenOtter ill try this thankyou !

@Blarn thats interesting was it often ? I have no real stress - this aside but the uncertainty over the health issue i admit does make me anxious so you could be onto something there …

Your DC weren't IVF by any chance were they? I had staggering night sweats after DC were born. My GP told me that several mums had come to her with the same issue - all of whom had conceived via IVF and she was puzzled by it.

Elissaisnotmyname · 13/01/2025 00:43

Do you have a memory foam mattress? I get night sweats sometimes, I partly blame our hot mattress

OdeToBarney · 14/01/2025 23:25

Bizarrely, I get night sweats when I am too cold in bed at night. Guessing I am wrapping myself up and then getting sweaty! Add more clothes or tweak the heating up and I'm fine!

Bountyboo · 14/01/2025 23:35

@OdeToBarney i have a habit of having the duvet really high up my neck and i do sleep in just underwear so this is a possibility . They seem to come in clusters which is odd

OP posts:
Bountyboo · 14/01/2025 23:35

@sleetysnowflakes nope but few people have said this !

Try wearing more to bed. Mine is always worse during my period too, so maybe that's something?

What was your ferritin result?
low iron or low ferritin can cause night sweats
Anothef thing have your inflammation level checked if it’s very high it needs further investigation because sometimes night sweats can mean cancer. Don’t be alarmed because this is very rarely the case

Bountyboo · 14/01/2025 23:54

@Elissaisnotmyname inflammation levels all normal . Interestingly in pregnancy ferritin was about 9 !!!! had iron transfusiin and now ( nearly three years later ) its still high and very slowly dropping at 260 - at one point was close to 40o

That is quite high fir a young woman usually ferritin levels increase after menopause
just to add my ferritin level is over 400 due to Graves Disease and inflammation

Any tick bites in the past?

DreamingOfASilentNight · 15/01/2025 00:03

Bountyboo · 11/01/2025 14:18

@Lobstercrisps Thanks for reply . Hormone levels all fine so doc doesnt think its that . So frustrating !

As mentioned by a pp, hormone tests only give a snapshot if levels at that moment in time. Hormone levels vary wildly from day to day and once God test results is not direct to rule out peri. Most doctors do not even carry out tests to determine levels are l as they are meaningless in understanding the picture. If be thinking I'd I had symptoms other than just sweats if I was you, aches, snappiness, feeling more moody or more sexual, brain fog, tiredness etc and if you do consider these could just be peri symptoms which can go in for years so try asking you try hrt to see if it works.

The high ANA must suggest autoimmune issues. Once you have one autoimmune condition, the chances of more increase. I have several! Often difficult to diagnose and elusive. Also look at food allergies and overall nutrition. Reduce carbs/sugar, increase range of plant foods eaten, reduce/cut out alcohol, increase activity, keep a healthy weight etc etc. - all this helps reduce inflammation (although I know you said all of this was fine).

Bamboozled5 · 15/01/2025 07:49

Also vitamin deficiency eg B12 can cause night sweats
