Sore throat not getting better... Scared

I have horrendous health anxiety and since Saturday I have had the most painful sore throat that hurts to swallow. It isn't a sharp pain it just feels dull. I am still eating and drinking - ibuprofen is the only thing that helps for a few hours.

I caught it off of my daughter and I took us both to the docs to get checked as she has had it longer than me and I wasn't sure if I could see white patches etc. We were told viral as our throats are angry red and we have colds too. I do think post nasal drip could be a contributing factor.

Should it have gotten better by now? I've never had a sore throat last this long. It woke me up last night and I got myself into a bit of a state it was strep and I am constantly looking in my mouth. Thank you

I've had sore throats that have lasted two full weeks before now. Sympathies - it's not very nice! I find gargling with disprin (and swallowing the disprin) to be the best relief for this.

Two weeks before you start to worry. Salt water gargle may help.

Difflam spray is good and there's a Covonia spray too which works well. I've also had sore throats last a couple of weeks or more so it doesn't sound unusual - speaking as a fellow health-anxiety sufferer!!
