Why do I bleed...

Wuxiapian · 04/05/2008 10:27

... during sex?

My partner isn't particularly well endowed and isn't rough during sex, but quite a few times I bleed.

This has never happened with previous partners.

Anyone know what may be causing this?

Many thanks in advance.

Wuxi, you should go to see your GP about this.

ChocolateRockingHorse · 04/05/2008 10:35

You need to get it checked. It could be cervical erosion or another, "closer to the surface" skin problem, or it could be sometime a bit more serious.

Bleeding during sex is always something to report to GP.

Thanks for replies.

Oh, God. I'm really quite worried about this now.

Hoping someone with experience of this can assist?

Thanks again.

Wuxia, it could also be nothing to worry about but as CRH says, you should always check it out just incase. Let us know how you get on...

You really should go to the doc, but trying to stop you worrying here....It could be cervical erosion which will bleed very easily after sex. My consultant showed me where mine was on a diagram and showed me how to feel for it and if I touched it (not really difficult as i have long fingers) and that really put my mind at rest that it was that that was bleeding, and I could check it. Not now as have had it cortorised (sp) and it has gone away. Have you had children, ever been on the pill?..these are some of the causes of erosions. They are absolutely nothing to worry about and are really only a bother cause they bleed. Let us know how you get on ..

Cosit, yes, I have one son and I've also been on the pill on and off for 15 years.

I had cervical erosion about 6/7 years ago - 3ish years after having my son. It presented itself as a continual heavy slimy discharge. There was no bleeding during/after sex and I didn't know that was a sympton of it, too.

I had it cauterised.

A couple years after that, I suffered with severe abdominal pains. Had a laparoscopy to see what was happening in the pelvic region.

Gynae said everything was in "pristine" condition. Nothing said about state of my cervix so I assmed everything was well.

So, maybe this is the erosion back again?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

No problem, but still go see the doc and let us know how you get on

And are you well now, 123?

Is lovemaking pain and blood free now?

I had this for years (was too scared to do anything about it, idiot) and it was an erosion. I took vitamin E capsules and it went. Get checked anyway in case of bacterial infections.

Wuxiapian · 04/05/2008 23:21

Wow, Shitemum.

Who recommended you take Vitamin E and has it totally cured it?

Shitemum · 04/05/2008 23:29

Gynocologist and yes, it was amazing. I think i had to take about 400mg x 4 every day, can't remember now, was a decade ago at least, hasn't ever come back. Pill can contribute to vit deficiency.

lisad123 · 04/05/2008 23:36

I had cervical erosions and always bled after sex. Mine was caused by the pill and then pregnancy. Its an overload of hormones that causes it. Im sure its nothing to worry about but best to check. hth

TheFallenMadonna · 04/05/2008 23:38

I have a cervical polyp and this causes bleeding sometimes apparently.
