Just been told my folate is low - would that have been the cause of my super faint period?

So I am not pregnant.

I am 41 and had a small amount of spotting around ovulation and then my period came but was so light and a brown sludge for a day or so.

just been told today by my GP that my folate is low and just wondering if that could have been the reason?

Did you ask your GP that question?

@JumpstartMondays you sound a bit mean. OP hope you're ok (sorry I don't know the answer to your question)

Ahh ok. I'm sure you could call your GP surgery and ask them to ass on your query to your GP, I've had to do that before and they've always got back to me quite quickly.

I've had lighter periods and more exhaustion when my folate was low (but my iron was also low) so I guess it could be similar? Are you being prescribed anything for low folate? I can't remember what I was prescribed as it was a while ago but I was definitely given something by GP to raise my levels and it took a while for it to kick in but it helped.

Hope you get it sorted
