I had a tummy bug last week. Three days of loose yellow stool that didn’t stop me doing anything but I did need the loo urgently a few times a day. Got worse. Then became watery but brown. But the many trips to toilet caused piles pain. Now I feel like I have solid stool in there but it’s only coming out (often and urgently) as a kind of very soft stool. Ie no longer watery, but not solid. I think maybe it can’t get past the piles. I’ve used over the counter suppositories for three days now and cream, also hot baths. Piles seem to be reducing and are less painful.
Am drinking hot way with honey right now - anything else I can eat or drink to help? Can’t work out if I need laxative (but won’t that make it more watery) or fibre (but I can’t get a solid out). Made worse by fact I have a leg injury so can walk round house but not go out for brisk walk etc.
Any advice? Doctor appts like gold dust around here and I honestly don’t want to talk to the pharmacist who is a parent at our school.

The only suggestion I have is to buy movicol. It's not like a laxative that makes it watery, more of a stimulant that creates the 'push' down.

If you don't want to speak to your pharmacist, is there a way you could travel up to a different pharmacy?

I think I will have to do that re pharmacy. Will look into movicol - thank you.
