So, it's lovely not to be pregnant any more. How long before I don't LOOK pregnant though??

How long before you started to look normal again?

I don't mind being a bit plump. I do mind looking 5 months gone. The nice man in M&S offered to carry my shopping to the car today. Hmph.

It depends.
6 weeks if you are a celeb
approx 2 years otherwise

I'm sick of people asking me when it's due, and I had my dd 14 months ago now!

Chipstick · 03/05/2008 19:40

7 yrs and still counting

BroccoliSpears · 03/05/2008 19:44

Oh dear. This is not good.

I reckon six months to stop looking truly pregnant, a year to start feeling like yourself again, and anything between 1 year and forever to lose those last five lbs

It took me nine months but I was thinner than I'd ever been - except with preternaturally full boobs!

I'm hoping to repeat that trick after this baby is born!

BroccoliSpears · 03/05/2008 20:34

My god no.

I currently fit into ONE pair of trousers in my wardrobe. ONE! And they're a rather nasty pair of maternity combats.

I need rid of this jelly belly and I want my old clothes back. I'm sure I wasn't this bad after having dd.

Perhaps I should ask on the style board for some 'drapey' clothes advice.

I went to Debenhams and bought four pairs of very soft jersey trousers in different colours and lived in floppy tops for a while

But if it makes you feel any better, I went from a 48inch waist at nine months pregnant to a 25 inch waist when DD was 8 months old - without a great deal of effort.
