When to start special diet for sigmoidoscopy?

Apologies for having two threads on the go…but this is stressing me out. I am due to have a sigmoidoscopy on Tuesday. I’ve been sent a form saying that I need to follow a special diet for 2 days before (eg no fruit etc, white bread only), which is today However, I’ve just seen hidden away on the form elsewhere that it needs to be 5 days—so conflicting information. I’m now panicking. Which is right? Can’t get through to the hospital to check.

Hospitals vary in their protocol for these things. Unfortunately if it's Tuesday you are already too late to do five days, in fact for two days you should have started today. My suggestion would be to start now and ring first thing tomorrow

@Boffle many thanks. I’ve had another search around and two days seems normal. I more or less started yesterday (bar having more milk) so it will definitely be two days.
