Struck down with virus

Hi all
Is there anyone who can relate as this has baffled me a bit.
Christmas Eve I felt itching/tickling in my ears and thought, ‘Oh, here comes a cold’. Survived most of Christmas Day just trying to ignore it. By 8pm on Christmas Day, I was in bed shivering and couldn’t get warm. A fever of 38.3. The next day, my throat was excruciatingly painful (worst sore throat I’ve ever had) and I felt poorly. Stayed in bed all day Boxing Day and the following day. Swallowing was and still is painful, to say the least. Temp has now gone, but I have flu like symptoms and feel completely washed out. Saw pharmacist who thought it was Strep throat. Did a strep test- negative. Flu tests were negative and 3 covid tests over 3 days all negative (they were new tests ordered from Amazon so were in date).

I had the fever but no sore throat, instead I ached from my neck to my toes. I slept most of Boxing Day, was able to cook Friday and Saturday as long as I spent the rest of the time on the sofa and have finally found full use of my legs today! The bonus is I am sleeping 8 hours a night - I am usually rubbish at sleeping , the downside is that I am usually coper of the year but ended up in tears sorting out the insurance this morning.
I’m putting it down to one of the many viruses around at the moment.
