Burning pain when coughing and mucus

I've picked up something that my partner had, I'm awake for the last hour with a horrible horrible pain in my chest, it's a burning sensation whenever I cough and then coughing up lots of green mucus. I'm taking ibuprofen paracetamol and lozenges for sore throat but the pain and sensation in my chest is just awful. Should I see a GP? I wonder do I need antibiotics

Yes, you probably do. Please call for an urgent appointment.

I hd this a few weeks ago and saw the GP who made me feel really stupid and said it was viral. Annoying as I work in healthcare and it's always better to get things checked

I'd love to know how they can say "it's viral" when someone is coughing up green mucus and they haven't tested it or tried any antibiotics 🤷🏼‍♀️

This was me 4 weeks ago, 3 courses of antibiotics and steroids later and I've been in A&E all night and being treated for pneumonia. My lungs were on fire.

Just to let people know i got a phone appointment and was prescribed augmentin and steroids for 7 and 5 days. My chest and throat are still extremely sore. Cant sallow properly and struggling to talk. She said it sounds like a bad chest infection. Have taken 2 antibiotics so far. Hoping they take effects soon as haven't felt this ill in years
