Itchy mole - anyone has this?

I've had a mole on my neck since I was a child. It's now just under a cm long. For the past couple of years it has become increasingly itchy. A few years ago I had an appointment as it has changed shape and bled, but they just took a special 'up close' photo, and said it was clear (no biopsy, and wasn't looked at by an actual person).

I've ignored the itching for a long time, but it's now almost unbearable at times. I don't use any fragrances, no fragranced/change of washing powder, no eczema etc. I've just been referred for an appointment, but wondered if others have had this and what the outcome was. I'm now starting to worry. 😭thank you

Not exactly but I do know that at many GP surgeries they have a regular mole clinic where they will remove troubling moles (ones that chafe or similar) and send them for testing.

DH had two neck moles removed that rubbed on his shirt collar.

It could be worth seeing if your GP offers a similar service.

My mum did in 2020/21 with a mole she’d had all her life. It was melanoma and she was incredibly lucky because she’d ignored it for 18 months. She was so so lucky it hadn’t spread anywhere else as it had grown further down into her skin, as melanomas can grow and spread quickly.

To be on the safe side, always get anything concerning checked out.

Very glad it your Mum's was caught in time. Did she have any other symptoms? The GP wouldn't refer me for it to be checked as there were no other changes in the past year. 'Luckily' it has bled and changed shape before which is the only reason they've referred me 😕. But it's the itching that I'm concerned about, it's deep underneath the mole.

My itchy mole turned out to be melanoma, so definitely get it checked.

I ignored it at first, but it got more irritating so got it checked out. It was initially removed under local anaesthetic and once confirmed as malignant, I had a further 'wide excision' which fortunately was all the treatment I needed.

Hope you get seen soon and reassured, one way or another.

I have a mole on my back that became a little tender, itchy and changed shape slightly. I got it checked and apparently a skin tag is forming on it.
Apparently it is quite common. The fact yours is on your neck makes me wonder if it could be the same.
Definitely get it checked but try not to worry as it could be absolutely fine.
