What's wrong with my nostrils 😭😭

Inside my nose is on fire and stinging so bad. There appears to be some cold sore like looking pimples up my nose and they are weeping and so sore. The other nostril is extremely red and sore though no funky looking pimples. My face around my jaw line is also very sore and painful! It doesn't feel sinus like though ,(I get frequent sinus infections and this doesn't feel like that,) help! Google says an infection will spread to my brain and I'll die 🫣

Sounds like it could be a staph infection. Pretty common. Can you see a GP tomorrow? If not then I'd ring 111 to get an appointment with OOH.

In the interim, gently wash it all and rinse with cooled boiled water if you're worried.

Thank you. I'm a bit wary it's the weekend and I have a sen toddler and no one to care for him and lugging him down to OOH just isn't gonna work for us. Reckon I could go to the pharmacist and they could prescribe something? It's ever so sore and gross 🤢

Hand foot and mouth?

Gggglinda · 27/12/2024 22:07

I once had this and was given nasesptin I believe it was a nasal antibiotic. Try the pharmacy and if not call 111/ drs. Hope you get it sorted op x

NeedAFuturePlan · 27/12/2024 22:07

Impetigo? Definitely try the chemist first.

mynameiscalypso · 27/12/2024 22:08

Try Naseptin. You can get it via an online pharmacy.

CountFucula · 27/12/2024 22:09

Sounds like staph - get yourself some fucidin

stargazerlil · 27/12/2024 22:10

Is it a histamine reaction?

TheBluntCrab · 27/12/2024 22:13

Can I put germaline or sudocrem on it just in the interim to try and get some relief? I've also been taking painkillers for the pain in my cheek/jaw that seems to have coincided with this but no relief 🫣

Were you in an air conditioned room a lot lately? My friend gets this and the chemist makes up an ointment for her, it’s like a cold sore but really painful. I hope you get it sorted.

Thanks everyone. I rang 111 and a nurse called me back and said based on my symptoms it sounds like nasal vestibulitis and prescribed me some antibiotics nasal cream. I've just been and fetched it and applied, it's stinging like mad but I'll see how it goes. Thanks alot everyone

It could be shingles, is the jawpain in one side or both?

BeyondMyWits · 28/12/2024 19:53

Also think shingles. Pain and blisters...

It is only on the left side of my face but the only blisters are actually up my nose not on the outside

Mine worked fairly quickly, did sting at first but did the job. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sandwichgen · 28/12/2024 20:20

Hope it helps quickly

WonderingWanda · 28/12/2024 20:29

When I had shingles it started in my mouth, but spread put. It was the most excruciating jaw pain. If what you've been given doesn't work do go back to the gp surgery and get checked.
