Raised CA125 Pregnancy

Hello, I am 14 weeks pregnant and have had a CA 125 test taken as I have a small round palpable lump in the area of where my left ovary sits. I have had two ultrasounds which have been clear, sonographer said what she can see in the area I’m feeling the lump was the left ovary which looks completely normal. All of my other bloods have been normal also.

I have just received a text from my GP asking to arrange a telephone call to discuss my blood test and to say I am having a freak would be an under statement. Especially on Christmas morning!

I have read online that pregnancy can easily alter the level of CA 125 but I am still very concerned. Please- any relatable stories or reassurance to help this worried mum on Christmas Day. Thankyou! X

There's no point freaking out about it today seeing a most if not all GP surgeries are shut. It could be nothing, it could be your levels are higher due to pregnancy or perhaps they want to refer you for further testing to investigate further. It's also possible they may want higher monitoring during your pregnancy due to the miscarriage risk despite you being 14 weeks.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to stress about it today, enjoy Christmas.

CA 125 readings can be influenced by other things and it's not always accurate. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry and wait to speak to the Dr. Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Pregnancy can cause ca 125 levels to rise. and according to a pubmed article pregnancy should be excluded if a woman of child bearing age gets a high level.
So I would relax and enjoy the pregnancy and happy Christmas
