Should I ring 111-probably tmi

I'm in bed, have been all yesterday too. At first I thought it was a cold but my windpipe is really, really sore and I've got a banging headache and I'm very pale.

I've just coughed up some phlegm and it's dark green. Would you say that I need antibiotics or at speaking to 111?

If the phlegm is dark green that’s usually a sign of infection. Call 111

Phoned 111 and they've told me to go to A&E

Thank you. They wee very quick. I'm actually back home now. Turns out I have the 'flu. That might explain why I feel so rotten.

Same here - day 6 of Covid and feel like crap

You'd think wouldn't you but the Doctor was extremely disinterested and just kept saying it was the flu. Didn't even swab me.

This is really confusing me. Either you have an illness that needs seeing at A&E for treatment or you don’t. Perhaps they wanted to rule out an infection?

Lord knows. I rang 111, they sent me to A&E. There is a GO out if hours at our A&E so after being triaged they sent me through to see the GP. He asked sone questions. Listened to me chest. Did my temperature, oxygen levels and blood pressure. Gave me a prescription for antibiotics but was insistent that I don't have a chest infection and said I have the 'flu. To be fair I don't feel like I do have a chest infection and but I have had tracheitis before and it feels like that.

He said I have the 'flu a few times and honestly I'm too ill to argue but it did seem odd that he didn't swab.

I was in a couple of years ago with a chest infection and borderline sepsis and the first thing they did was swabs.
