My 4 year old boy had a chalazion (not big) in his eye. As its been there for couple of months, we were worried as it says it might cause blurry vision. So i took him to the eye test today and we found out he is shortsighted with -5 (myopia).

None of us in our family got that and he never got screen time till 3 years old and after 3 years till now its only 4 hours/week. He went to nursery and started school this year and no complaints on his reading and writing.

can some share your experience on this please? How to manage? As he is 4, i am not sure how to make him to wear glasses.

It’s really important that your child wears glasses because otherwise the myopic eye may become lazy. After the age of around 7/8 nothing can be done about it so it’s important it’s addressed now. If you don’t do anything it could impact on your child’s ability to drive/do certain jobs in adulthood. it might be quite difficult to get them to wear the glasses because your child won’t notice much difference with them on because the one eye has no prescription. But it’s really important that you persevere.

Bit different, but DS got glasses around 6. The look of wonder on his face when we walked out of the optician was a sight to behold.
He's at about -5 (in both eyes) now - but things have stabilized from early teens.
His bother, on the other hand, got much weaker glasses initially, and it was much harder to get him to keep them on. I think the good eye ight mean he doesn't see a bug difference when wearing glasses. Try and perserver!
