Headache for over a week

Have had a headache for over a week, I do suffer from migraines, and take a preventative tablet every night.
Have tried, aspirin, Sudafed, sumatriptan, had a Gp appointment yesterday who gave me nefopam and nothing is helping.
Was asked to get eyes tested which I have done today and all good.
I can't sleep as it's worse when lying down, I have numbness all over my face.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can try?

Could it be the start of a cold or sinus infection?

Not a cold, nhs 24 sent me to A&E last night, was given a CT scan which has came back clear. They think it is a migraine, didn't think a migraine could last this long..
was given naproxen and sent home today. Pains still there so not sure what to try next. At least I know it isn't anything serious.

Electrolytes are helpful for me when I have a headache.

Would it be worth trying something a bit different like acupuncture, cranial osteopath or even just a massage or facial? Just something that would tell the facial/scalp nerves to relax.

I've also heard that putting your feet in warm/hot water can help. I'd try anything after a week!

You poor thing that sounds awful. I'm pleased they've ruled out anything nasty with the scan though.

Others with experience of migraine will advise I'm sure but can you make sure you are fully hydrated - eating bananas and drinking fluids.

Also acupuncture or acupressure might help. I think massage between the base of the thumb and index finger can help neck/head pain.

Hope it goes soon.
