so I’ve been going to and from the gp with this for a while ( since September)
for a few years every single time I get a cold ( which is a lot as my immune system is generally quite weak and I have young children) I always without fail get a sinus infection as soon as the cold starts clearing up. It’s awful. I’ve been prescribed antibiotics for this sinus infection twice this year ( when I do actually visit the doctor as most of the time I try to just ride it out) even when there is not actually an “infection” after a cold I have a lot of nasal congestion and pain around my eyebrows etc when I touch there. TMI but even when I don’t have an infection after a cold when I wake up daily I need to blow my nose and it’s green mucus that comes out and it smells really bad.
in September I went to the go 3 times in 3 weeks as I started feeling very lightheaded, not dizziness as it wasn’t spinning but more like a head rush as if you was falling back if that makes sense and it would happen mostly when I would be walking outside, first time I went gp said he didn’t know what it was and to come back if it doesn’t clear but possibly labrythitis but wasn’t sure. Went back the following week and by this point I had a cold and the doctor said it didn’t sound like vertigo or anything so put it down to being viral, by the 3rd week it was still on going and I’d developed a fully blown sinus infection by this point and I got antibiotics. The lightheadness feeling did eventually pass after 3/4 weeks. I had a period of being ok but again daily when I wake up I’d need to blow my nose and it would be green and smell. Now for the past 6 weeks again I’ve been lightheaded, mostly when I’m outside walking and it triggered off severe panic attacks, gp put it down to stress and anxiety, after 6 weeks it started easing the past few weeks once I’d try to take my mind of it, forgot to add I had recent blood tests which were all normal. However last week one of my kids brought home a bug from school and we’ve all been really ill with it for a week, I’ve never felt so ill and yesterday as expected and predicted I woke up with a severe sinus infection, one of the worst I’ve had I felt like pulling my face off I had so much pain and pressure and got green smelly stuff coming out of my nose. Today the pain is slightly better but I’ve been going really lightheaded again, my ears hurt inside and have pressure and so does my entire head and face.
can constant sinus issues like this cause lightheadness now I’m wondering if all the symptoms are linked?
I don’t know if it’s worth going back to the doctor as I’ve already been precscribed antibiotics twice this year for the same issue and had a lot more infections in my sinuses than I’ve had antibiotics but it is just awful, I do know I need to get checked over properly as I’ve been like this for years but this year has been very bad with my sinuses.
