Petechiae on legs

Hello,

These little non-blanching dots have appeared on my leg. I already have an appointment with the GP on Monday because of a swollen lymph node in my neck. Now that these have appeared I'm even more worried :(
Has anyone had symptoms like this before?
What would cause this?

The most likely cause is a virus. My son (22) tends to get petichiae (and HSP) whenever he gets a virus and has swollen lymph nodes as a result too.

Thank you for replying. Is it possible to have a virus and not know? I've had no cold/flu or other illness that I know of. The nodes have been swollen for about 4 weeks so I decided to make a GP appointment

No, I have one of those on the back of my leg and it's not like them

The first time he had HSP, he had not been unwell at all. I completely freaked out (quietly) when the GP sent him for urgent blood tests. I now realise it’s just ‘him’.

This happens to me all the time,Especially in the summer. My feet and legs get covered.

I was convinced I had leukaemia!

Anyway my Dr said it's nothing and happens to lots of people and sent me on my way.

I'd like to know what actually causes it though.

The doctor said she didn't know what was causing them but wasn't concerned, I did have various blood tests and they all came back normal!

Ahh I was convincing myself I had leukaemia too. I had blood tests and they were all fine, this was also 3 months ago so I figured I would have had more symptoms by now if that was the case!

The blood tests diagnosed HSP.

Great news & reassuring for you , as I’m getting older I find myself noticing every little blemish which isn’t a bad thing but sometimes my anxiety runs away with me

I’ve actually posted mine on here but nobody has replied . In oct I had spots down my shin which went but 3 have appeared on my knee .
