Healthy eating

My Mum has been nagging me today and she has a fair point, I do not eat well, I cook nice healthy food for dd's and dh then I have toast and chocolate buttons or something equally ridiculous.
Problem is dd's have just had there dinner and I was starving so have eaten 2 slices of wholemeal toast and 4 mini packets of buttons. When dh gets home I could also have the lovely spag bol I have cooked but then I think I will be having too many calories so i will probably have nothing else today.
I want to lose about a stone in weight and I am training to run at the moment, I am also sufferining from mild depression and started taking fluoxitine about 2 weeks ago.
How can i improve the way I eat without increasing my calories significantly?

I'm afraid, it's the same old eat less, exercise more thing.

Could you eat an apple when the DC have their dinner?

Eat wholegrains (brown rice, wholemeal bread, oats)
Cut out/ significantly reduce refined carbs - as soon as I did this, I stopped craving sweet things and stopped feeling hungry all the time
Eat Fruit & Veg
Don't eat junk

have to agree with underrated. Eat 5 smaller meals/day so you don't get hungry and snack. Complex rather than refined carbs - think brown not white - fills you up more and better for you - refined carbs convert to sugar quickly leaving you hungry and wanting more sugar based foods.

And allow yourself treats if you like them but not too many. If you go cold turkey you are more likely to give up. Like me yesterday 3 days into 28 day detox and polish off whole bottle of wine in a kind of had a sh&t week, I can have a drink if I want one it won't matter 1 bottle later and very sluggy horrible day today back to the drawing board!!!!
