Hello. I have a really strange throbbing pain in my thigh, similar to pulling a muscle. It's a strange pain it started yesterday and is now in both my thigh and back of my knee (just above). It's not swollen or red. I have no risk factors except being 2 weeks postpartum.

It will be extremely difficult to sort childcare to go to a&E especially as I am ebf.

Is this anything to worry about if there's no redness etc? Can i call gp tomorrow or will they send me to A&E? Unsure what to do! DP tells me I'm over reacting!

You’re not overreacting.

The GP can’t diagnose a DVT and if they suspect it, will likely send you straight to A+E for diagnosis.

My best advice is that you ring NHS 111 or use the NHS 111 service online straight away and follow the advice given. This will be a lot safer than getting advice off people here who aren’t medically qualified.

FWIW, I have had 2 DVTs - both times I had leg pain, but no swelling or redness.
