Can anyone interpret this blood test result for me? Is it serious or not?

A monocyte count of 1.01 x 109/L means there are slightly more monocytes (a type of white blood cell) in your blood than what's considered the normal range, which is 0.3-0.9 x 109/L.

Monocytes are part of your immune system and help fight infections and remove damaged tissue. A mildly elevated count like this can be caused by several things:

Common causes:

  • Recent or ongoing infection
  • Recovery from recent illness
  • Inflammatory conditions
  • Normal variation
