How are you doing OJ? how are those horrible out laws of yours?

More rum?

Pablop · 01/05/2008 21:44

HI OJ, you must try this Rum. Its by the same co Wray & Nephew but tastes 10 x better.

Izabella · 01/05/2008 21:48

Oj, I hope that Steve's brother & sister didn't do their normal thing & kick off. How rude of his mum not even to acknowledge you. That doorbell issues just shows how petty her attitude really is.

Sorry that you didn't have a good night lastnight. I hope tonight is better. I'm off at 4am tomorrow morning but will txt you. Lots of love. xxx

onlyjoking9329 · 01/05/2008 22:25

now thats a website i will add to favorites
Steves brother and sister came at 7.20 at left at 8.30.
his siter didn't speak to me at all, his brother said hello, whilst they were here Steve was shouting for me i went throu and he asked me to sit on the bed and promise me that he could stay here with me on this bus forever
i think his sister was shocked at the change in him in the three weeks since she saw him, i think it might be sinking in for them now.
you see they come and vist and just see a snapshot of what it is like they are not here to calm him down at 3 in the morning when he is frightened. they don't have to see the fear in his eyes on a daily basis.

onlyjoking9329 · 01/05/2008 22:26

Have a safe trip izabella.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 01/05/2008 22:31

OJ I shivered at the fear in his eyes comment, I remember that look from my dad.

In a way, the fact that his sister has seen how Steve is right now surely must have been a wake-up call to her, a demonstration of how you and Steve have to battle on through this minute by minute.

onlyjoking9329 · 01/05/2008 22:36

His sister has always blamed me when steve has got worse when she came to see him when he came home from the hospice she acused me of overdosing him and said that was why he had got worse, i mean did she really think he was going to get better
hopefully she will have seen that steve wants to be with me and can only be comforted by me, as much as it might hurt her, she dissappeared for 12 years and has only come back since steve has been ill.

BreevandercampLGJ · 01/05/2008 22:40

OJ

BoysAreLikeDogs · 01/05/2008 22:40

bossybritches · 01/05/2008 22:54

Obviously takes after along-forgotten nice side of the family.

Hi oj. Just come in from drinking with lovely next door neighbours... hic! They live in Cyprus most of the year so it's aways a pleasure to see them when they come back.

Hope you have a god night. Great idea to disconnect doorbell!

onlyjoking9329 · 01/05/2008 23:30

Steves family will have to live with the guilt i will however live with the knowledge that i have done the very best for Steve even thou at times that has been made very difficult by his Rellies.
if steve was aware of what was happening i am very sure he would be proud of me and hurt by the actions of his Rellies.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 01/05/2008 23:36

When Steve dies, you will have only grief to deal with. Your behaviour has been exemplary.

They will have to deal with grief, and the embarrasment of how they let themselves and indeed Steve down.

fortyplus · 01/05/2008 23:41

oj I think that sums it up nicely. Whatever happens you have always done your best and no one could ask for mor. And I think your best probably far exceeds most people's. What a shame that your last months with Steve have been marred by his nutty family. It sounds as though they direct their anger, sorrow and frustration at you - Lord knows why. I wonder if they ever will look back and see how unreasonable they have been?

OJ my fav choc cake recipe, from nigella's site: Chocolate Cloud Cake
250g dark chocolate, minimum 70% cocoa solids
125g unsalted butter, softened
6 eggs: 2 whole, 4 separated
175g caster sugar
2 tablespoons Cointreau (optional)
grated zest of 1 orange (optional)
for the cream topping:
500ml double cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon Cointreau (optional)
half teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder for sprinkling. Preheat the oven to 180ºC/gas mark 4. Line the bottom of the cake tin with baking parchment. Melt the chocolate either in a double boiler or a microwave, and then let the butter melt in the warm chocolate.
Beat the 2 whole eggs and 4 egg yolks with 75g of the caster sugar, then gently add the chocolate mixture, the Cointreau and orange zest. In another bowl, whisk the 4 egg whites until foamy, then gradually add the 100g of sugar and whisk until the whites are holding their shape but not too stiff. Lighten the chocolate mixture with a dollop of egg whites, and then fold in the rest of the whites. Pour into the prepared tin and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cake is risen and cracked and the centre is no longer wobbly. Cool the cake in its tin on a wire rack; the middle will sink as it cools.
When you are ready to eat, place the still tin-bound cake on a cake stand or plate for serving and carefully remove the cake from its tin. Don't worry about cracks or rough edges: it's going to look like a crater. Whip the cream until it's soft and then add the vanilla and Cointreau and continue whisking until the cream is firm but not stiff. Fill the crater of the cake with the whipped cream, easing it out gently towards the edges of the cake, and dust the top lightly with cocoa powder

Morning OJ hope you all had a restful nights sleep. "at the fear in his eyes" and Steve being frightenend ....understand exactly what you mean about this as have been through that with my Dad and it is heartbreaking to see. His family have absolutely no idea what you are coping with...we do {{{{hugs}}}}. Hope today is a good day for you all. x

Tickle · 02/05/2008 07:43

Went all misty at the idea of you and Steve on a bus together forever

Sending love
x

LittleMissNorty · 02/05/2008 08:18

Morning OJ.... at what you see in Steve's eyes.....

When the time comes you will have absolutely NO regrets in the way you have acted and in that you have done everything you possibly could in Steve's best interests.....his mother etc however will have to live with that guilt and regret for the rest of their lives.....what a hard lesson to learn....they are so silly....life is too short to act like that.

{{{{{hugs to you, Steve and the DCs}}}}}

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 02/05/2008 08:22
