Wheezing question

is it normal for LO to wheeze when they cry?

DS4 (3 weeks) was dx'd with a heart murmur at one day old and we were told it was very likely insignificant, but to go back to SCBU with certain symptoms- wheezing was one.

He only wheezes when he cries (but that's far more than with the other 3), but that can be very pronounced.

HV coming to weigh him tomorrow am so xcan discuss with her but wondered what other people found?

Hi Peachey. My ds is 6 months old and is very wheezy as well. Has been from the start. Not only when he cries tho it's worse then but when he gets excited etc. We took him down to the pedeatrician as he was prem and we were a bit worried about it but the doc just said that babies force all the air out of their lungs, esp when crying and that's the noise we were hearing. Certainly, if you're worried tho it's always best for someone to have a look at him, even if just to put your mind at rest.

Don't think DS ever did. Given you've been told to go back if he's wheezing, I would follow that up to be on the safe side.
