Breast reduction - private or NHS?

I'm considering having a reduction as my boobs are so huge - G cup and the rest of me is a size 12. I've been told i might be able to get it done on the NHS but could afford to go private. I'm not sure which route to follow. Does anyone have any experiences or advice?

My advice is to get all the information you can on what the operation involves and what the results will be afterwards - from a really good reliable surgeon - watch out for dodgy clinics. You will not have perfect scar-free boobs - there's just no way of doing it without some scarring. Maybe you would miss your boobs as they are now?

It's worth trying the NHS route (I think that's more likely if the weight of your boobs gives you back pain etc rather than a purely cosmetic reason) because often the really good surgeons are doing both NHS and private work, but of course you will wait - maybe waiting isn't a bad thing though - this is not something to be rushed into.

Hope that helps....
