Suspected hand, foot & mouth disease in DD: what can I do for her?

Going to the docs tomorrow am, but is there anything I can do for her tonight to make her more comfortable? And does anyone know how soon she can mix with other children again please - we are due to fly abroad on Sat to be with family! Blisters on feet appeared yesterday but I thought it was just new socks rubbing....

My dd had this when she was 2. I found that calpol helped. Also is she gets a sore mouth get pleanty of ice lollys in for her to suck (if she's old enough to have them that is).

Don't worry too much dd's condition pretty much cleared up within a few days as I recall

Ice cream and ice lollies to help the pain in her mouth.

Alternate paracetamol and ibruprofen for pain relief.

It will probably be over by saturday.

She can mix with other children as soon as she feels better.

Thanks very much for the link and for the advice. It turns out to be a mild case apparently says the GP so we should be ok - dd certainly very perky this morning although still has blisters on her feet. Think we will be allowed to cross the borders without putting her in quarantine!

My LO recovered really fast from this. It looks worse than it is I think and the name freaks some people out as they mentally link it with foot and mouth which is no relation.
