Just changed dd's nappy aged 5mths and found what looked like worms. not moving, black and not squishy. She is perfectly happy in herself, bit grizzly with her teeth (i think, as teething gel helps calm her). sleeping well, do i need to call the doc now or shall i go tom morn?

I thought worms were white, tiny, think and squirmy?

jordylass · 09/01/2005 17:11

I don't think they're worms EM. Mine had them frequently when smaller and when you see them they can't be anything else, about 1cm long, white and wiggly.

moondog · 09/01/2005 17:11

Don't sound like worms to me..

seeds from something she's eaten maybe....kiwi, or fruit in a yoghurt?

eleanorsmum · 09/01/2005 17:14

could it be from bananas then.

banana can come out the other end as little black threads - have you never noticed it before?

eleanorsmum · 09/01/2005 17:14

does that make me bad? she hasn't had poo like this but has a history of constipation. She goes reguarly now i have introduced fruit to her diet. i have noticed some things coming out just as they go in. is this where she doesn't digest things properly?

Doesn't sound like worms - they are small, white and very wiggly. Ditto on the visit to GP's though.

thanks think i will just pop her to the docs in morn. bananas do seem an obvious cause though cos they can have balck threads in them cant they. she is ok otherwise and still her happy little self so not too worried now.
