Hey I'm going to attach pictures but anyone who has anemia, does this look like it(they say you can tell when you pull down your lower eyelid)
Obviously I will get my bloods done I'm currently waiting for an appointment with my gp it takes 3 weeks. My symptoms lately have been extremely tired. I wouldn't say pale as I've always been pale but around my eyes are definitely darker, almost purple. I get chest pain and heart palpitations shortness of breath. Recently I've started to have a few dizzy episodes also. I'm always freezing especially my hands and feet and the other day my lips literally went purple at work!!! (It is very cold in there) Ive also been sick a lot lately with flus and colds.
I know this could be an array of different things but any tell signs from my eyes? Thanks

Also whooshing in your ears is another symptom. I have been getting this in my left ear on and off for months now

I personally wouldn't say they look unusually pale but I'm guessing your GP will run some bloods.

I've had pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear for about 2 months now, GP checked my ears and my ear drums were bulging. Likely a problem with the eustachian tube, which is possibility for you with you saying you've had frequent colds. I've been given steroid spray and it's lessened a lot.

I'm also low on vitamin D which is really common between October and march so ask for that to be tested too.

As a side note, I had pulsatile tinnitus a couple of years ago that wouldn't resolve with steroid spray, this led to a referral to ENT and eventually a brain MRI. That's not to scare you because it all came back fine but I was advised likely anxiety causing it. I too was suffering with palpitations and chest pain at the time. I've been under a lot of stress recently so there's every chance it's affecting me again now along with the bulging eardrum !

So my advice (although I'm no medic) would be whilst waiting for a GP appointment, get on some high dose multivitamins, something a Berroca daily and take 25mg (micrograms, or 1000iu) of vitamin D. Also try and over the counter nasal spray, a pharmacist can tell you what's best.

Hi I have pernicious anaemia and B12 injections every month at the docs.

I was diagnosed 4 years ago my symptoms are numbness in my arms fingers and toes moodiness and extreme fatigue like you Im naturally pasty 😂 but no ear whooshing all symptoms for anaemia are different push for your blood test sooner if you can hopefully you’ll get away with the tablets as the injections burn like fire x

DirlingWhervish · 01/12/2024 04:08

I've been both anaemic and low b12 as well as just anaemic another time and my symptoms were very similar each time and similar to yours. So I second the getting on some good multivitamins - Berroca is great.

Do you have any idea why you might be anaemic? I lost a lot of blood and was breastfeeding so needed to be really careful with what I was eating. It's horrible though but just get bloods done ASAP so you know what's what. Take it easy and don't push yourself too much til your levels are back up again.

Also, have you given your full symptoms when you asked for the blood test? If they've changed at all since you made it you need to let them know. I'd have thought they could fit you in with a nurse to take bloods sooner, so they have the results for your actual appointment? I think chest pain and palpitations would bump you up the list tbh.

@Schoolrunmum81 thank you so much for the reply!
That's funny you say that about the eustacian tube because I've always had a problem with that in my left ear. My ear has also been EXTREMELY itchy on the inside.
I will most definitely give the berroca a go. I'm taking the revive active for the last two weeks but they're so expensive so will go berocca. Thank you

@ForAvidQuail omg. A numbness in my left arm was something I have been to the gp with before a couple of months ago and it just went away one day? All these symptoms are coming and going . Was that the case for you or was it constant ?

I should get on the phone tomorrow @Mummabear10032021 and push for the blood test quicker. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon. It's just ghastly to be so wiped out all the time.

DirlingWhervish · 01/12/2024 11:08

I wondered too if your symptoms have improved or not since taking the revive? Get eating loads of greens! Also, shop around for Berocca, I usually get some good deals on Amazon, but prices very much vary!

About the Berocca. I'm in Ireland so I don't know if it's the same where you are, but Aldi stock a fizzy multivit in a tube and the ingredients are exactly the same as Berocca. Great dupe. I think they are under €2 a tube.
