Hello all, I have a 3 month old and a 2.5 year old and a menagerie of pets. I constantly feel exhausted, and weak as though I’ve been exercising when I haven’t. I’ve also been having headaches regularly. Is this just life with young children or could there be another reason? I have scheduled an appointment with the GP but it isn’t for another 4 weeks, so I wondered if anyone could offer advice in the meantime please ? Thank you

It could be low iron or B12, thyroid problems can kick in too. I wouldn’t do anything now, I’d go for the appointment and hopefully get some blood tests.

I’ve two four and under but eldest at home apart from a couple of hours at pre-school on the morning and youngest a baby and I felt the same. Had my bloods done and iron was low, I’ve been on the tablets for a couple of weeks and feeling so much more human so it’s worth going! Hope you feel better soon, it’s tough x

I wouldn't do anything until you've had blood tests to check for deficiencies - if you start taking medication now you could get false readings and never get to the bottom of the issue.

It's good to speak to the dr just in case but I had my dc the same distance apart and it's exhausting for the first couple of years, my eldest was going through diagnosis for autism by that point too! Make sure you get at a good balanced diet and if at all possible get some extra sleep eg I would go to bed at 8pm each night once eldest went down leaving then h to deal with the baby (was ebf but I'd feed her just beforehand) then he'd bring her to bed with him for the late evening feed, that 2-3 hours really helped.

Thank you everyone, I tried to get an appointment sooner as the joint pain has worsened recently and I keep seeing something out the corner of my eye, very strange! They weren’t able to give me anything sooner, it’s going to be a long 3 weeks.

I had this too, when I woke up in the morning I was hobbling as my feet were so stiff and I kept seeing things moving in the corner of my eye. I do think these symptoms have improved since I’ve been on the iron but would be interested if you are also low in iron
