What can I do to help back pain?

It's driving me nuts. More towards the top, it stings.

top - do you mean shoulders? What sets it off?

It's below my left shoulder going in towards my spine. Nothing sets it off. It's just stinging.

sounds like it could be your nerve. I would try for physio through your GP. Or acupuncture. Usually a few physios post on here might be worth bumping tomorrow to see if anyone about.

-heat massage and exercises.
-sit upright on a chair and sit on your hands and stretch your head up and then slowly down towards your armpit (both sides) this stretches the trapezius muscle that spasms.

  • posture exercises. sit on an exercise ball and sit upright it helps your core muscles and makes you align yourself better

will bump for you as I'm having a really good course of 'back classes' run by local nhs physios. its a course of 10 lessons with other people, everyone gets their own graded exercises in a circuit. even though my sacroiliac joint is still very dodge if I move it awkwardly the rest of my back (and tummy muscles) are much free-er and stronger now and after 4 weeks I'm in much less pain.
