It's driving me nuts. More towards the top, it stings.

top - do you mean shoulders? What sets it off?

avenanap · 28/04/2008 23:11

It's below my left shoulder going in towards my spine. Nothing sets it off. It's just stinging.

sounds like it could be your nerve. I would try for physio through your GP. Or acupuncture. Usually a few physios post on here might be worth bumping tomorrow to see if anyone about.

-heat massage and exercises.
-sit upright on a chair and sit on your hands and stretch your head up and then slowly down towards your armpit (both sides) this stretches the trapezius muscle that spasms.

  • posture exercises. sit on an exercise ball and sit upright it helps your core muscles and makes you align yourself better

will bump for you as I'm having a really good course of 'back classes' run by local nhs physios. its a course of 10 lessons with other people, everyone gets their own graded exercises in a circuit. even though my sacroiliac joint is still very dodge if I move it awkwardly the rest of my back (and tummy muscles) are much free-er and stronger now and after 4 weeks I'm in much less pain.
