High aPTT/aPTT ratio on blood tests

Am panicking. DH on a flight south africa for work for the week and I am home alone with two older teens - one with severe MH issues, both ASD/ADHD. So I need to hold it all together. Had BTs as was in a car accident 4 weeks ago and am still covered in bruising, so they checked my blood clotting factor.

There just a note to call the doctor, next to ‘slightly raised’.

I foolishly googled and got links to cirrhosis, lupus and leukaemia. Am panicking, tearful and in bits.

Am hoping someone medical will wander past and reassure me that in the absence of any other abnormal tests, this is likely a blip? And that I shouldn’t panic?

Read your last paragraph again OP. You have the skills to calm yourself - you don’t need anyone medical. Try to grab some time alone this morning (I know - it may have to be in the loo!) and focus on your breath (I’m sure you do this with the DC) - you will be fine.

Thank you - had a full on anxiety attack last night about what would happen to my husband and kids if I was seriously ill. Managed to speak to my GP this morning and they are not too worried as it is likely to do with HRT/estrogen so may have to adjust that. Have been struggling with anxiety generally after a recent car accident and deterioration in my DD’s MH, so realised I didn’t have much capacity for more. Definitely wore a path in the carpet to the loo last night.

Of course the results would come in when my DH is away!!
