Going for sigmoidoscopy 1.5 hours away

I am looking at going private for a sigmoidoscopy that is 1.5 hours away. No toilets along the way. Is that a bad idea? I’m worried I will need the toilet on the way up due to the liquid that you bave to take & it makes you rush to the loo.

Just bumping this….I need to decide whether I’m going to go or not.

When I had a sigmoidoscopy they did an enema at the hospital just before. For colonoscopy the prep is longer, I had one that was quite far away and by the following morning it was all over with in terms of needing the loo.

@MissSmiley many thanks. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but did the medicine for the colonoscopy carry on affecting you up to the point of the procedure or had it worn off by then?

I had a sigmoidoscopy. Had to take the prep. Took picolax as it's less volume and I have sensory issues.

I could have travelled that distance without issues. My appointment was not early though.

It makes you need the loo until you have no food inside you.
